In the realm of institutional administration, the name of Mrs. Funmilola Adenike Adeusi resonates as a woman of remarkable intellect, boundless grace and steadfast leadership.
Born on August 28, 1971, she embarked on a journey destined for greatness. Her foundation was laid at St. John’s Anglican Primary School, Ikere-Ekiti (1976–1982) and further strengthened at St. Louis Girls’ Grammar School, Ikere-Ekiti (1982–1987). With brilliance as her compass, she gained admission into the former Ondo State University, Ado-Ekiti (now Ekiti State University) in October, 1987 from where she, not only bagged a Bachelor’s degree in English Education with a Second Class Upper Division in 1991, but also emerged as the best graduating student of the Faculty of Education – a testament to her academic prowess. Her thirst for knowledge led her to the University of Calabar, where she obtained a Master’s degree in Educational Administration and Planning in 2007.
Like a river that carves its path with resilience, she began her administrative career in September 1994 at the then College of Education as an Administrative Officer II. Over the years, through diligence, foresight and an unwavering commitment to institutional growth, she ascended the ranks, attaining the position of Deputy Registrar in October, 2011. Her footprints of excellence were evident as she served in various capacities that significantly shaped policies, practices and administrative framework within the institution.
When the College evolved into a full-fledged University on October 16, 2020, she stood at the threshold of history, seamlessly transitioning into the new academic landscape to continue her exceptional service. The defining moment of her illustrious career came to the fore when she was appointed by the University Governing Council as the first female substantive Registrar, a position she formally assumed on February 1, 2024 – breaking barriers and setting a precedent for generations to come.
A consumate professional, Mrs. Adeusi is a member of the Nigerian Institute of Management (NIM), Association of Higher Education Professionals (AHEP) and the Association of Nigerian University Professional Administrators (ANUPA).
